E John Lewis is a designer and maker of architectural sandblasted glass. With 10 years experience in the industry, this has lead to gaining a reputation for supplying quality glass products to the trade and public.
Trained as an Illustrator and Graphic Designer John now concentrates on his passion and enthuisiasm for sandblasting decorative art glass.
Combining the techniques of deep carving, shading, surface blasting, multiple layers and using various resists to create the beautiful 3 dimensional light and shade effects on the finished piece of glass.
In addition and complementing the sandblast techniques, he sometimes includes hand made coloured fused glass pieces, which are uv bonded to a particular surface, adding depth, colour and light to the subject matter.
Finally the art of cold-pour laminating is another process which excites his imagination. Using the rich opaque and vibrant transparent colours, the end product never ceases to amaze.
